Fiberglass is the miracle worker in this world of thin sliced wood. Each supCAt has an outer layer of four ounce fiberglass cloth, saturated with MAS epoxy. Fiberglass and epoxy also layer the inside of the pontoon for further stiffness and waterproofing. This original, and oldest, of the composite materials, adds amazing strength and stiffness, and also makes the wood water proof.
